When Nivrel And Benzinger Get Together: German watches Making Harmony
My fondness for German watch Making is often clear as I make mention to watch makers and designers whose work produces beautiful or utilitarian timepieces. Here we have a rare combined effort of two of Germany's most exclusive had dedicated watch makers. Nivrel is know for their well-made classically simplistic timepieces which perform their functions in an uncluttered and simple execution. Benzinger, using their watch tools and machines from days of old, bring a rare attention to tiny aesthetic detail on each visible part of the watch and movement. This technique called "decorating" or "gilding" uses fine machines and tools to carve patterns on to the surfaces of a watch.
Ralf Tech WRX Perlage Dial Diving watches
I recently discovered the haphazardly named Ralf Tech line of watches (I'm sorry, but the name "Ralf Tech" inspires no horological confidence). Ralf Tech is a pretty well known diving equipment maker, who now has a few nice lines of diving watches. The French company makes some really nice watches at good prices starting at a few hundred bucks to about three grand for the top of the line limited edition automatic chronograph watches.
Tempvs Compvtare Sea Shepherd Watch
The Tempvs Compvtare Sea Shepard is 47mm wide in black DLC coated steel. It has a very competent design that is masculine and modern. The colored segments (here in yellow) all over the watch are done in luminant - so the watch actually grows like that in the dark. Crystal is naturally AR coated sapphire and the case is water resistant to 200 meters. Inside the watch Tempvs Compvtare uses a Swiss ETA Valjoux 7750 automatic movement. Aside from the odd to read hour and minute hands, the chronograph complixcation and the date functions are easy to read. In addition to the Swiss movement, according to Tempvs Compvtare the rest of the watch is entirely Swiss made as well. This is not too common actually - and is part of the reason the watch has a high price.
